Gun Free Kitchen Tables (GFKT) conducts various public campaigns towards raising awareness to the dangers posed by small arms proliferation in public space – whether licensed or unlicensed, carried by civilians or security personnel. These campaigns meanwhile aim, as well, to influence and change policies that encourage the proliferation of guns. Our campaigns are carefully research-based, integrating GFKT’s consistent gender perspective, its ongoing data collection and analysis, and drawing on the feminist methodologies and growing body of knowledge that we have acquired. They address the public at large as well as policy makers, using a range of different tools to press for a decrease in the proliferation of small arms in civil space and to prevent unnecessary victims.
