In Jaffa, a representative of an urban renewal company knocked on my door, handing out sweets in honor of Ramadan.
As he turned to leave, I saw that he had a gun tucked into the back of his pants, apparently a private weapon. I told him that he shouldn’t be walking around like that in Jaffa, and that I have lived in the neighborhood since 2018; it feels threatening and inappropriate. He was not convinced.
My neighbor downstairs has a camera, and I assume they didn’t open the gate for him because they saw that he was armed.
I regretted opening the door. It made me angry, and I am still angry.
